In this position, the Manufacturing Process Engineer fills the role of working with the Application & Product Engineering Groups and manufacturing facilities to develop processes and equipment to support product manufacturing and launch of products in production.  Employee will be required to have manufacturing equipment development experience as well as practical mechanical aptitude. Additionally, responsible for ensuring product manufacturability, quality, cost and operating requirements are established. 

Critical Competencies and Duties:

  • Technical Ability: Perform root cause investigations and provide corrective actions to improve manufacturing process. Use data and tools to improve processes and sustain process improvements.  Facilitate and support process improvement efforts.  Lead lunch of new process in production.  Responsible for documenting and tracking continuous improvement ideas and changes to processes.  Assist in make vs. buy analysis.
  • Technical knowledge:  Employee must have the ability to gather, maintain, format, compile, and manipulate technical data, such as customer provided drawings and specifications, material test results and engineering design changes.
  • Communications: The employee will have excellent listening, verbal and written skills in order to clearly exchange ideas with all stakeholders such as but not limited to; inner company production personnel, outside vendors/suppliers and customers.
  • Teamwork and Collaboration: Collaborate with internal business units in an effort to produce quality products efficiently and in accordance with customer requirements and production schedules.
  • Initiative: Investigate new methods of manufacturing or technology to improve current processes, increase capacity and output and meet long term production goals. Develop and initiate cost reduction programs in the assigned manufacturing area.  Lead lunch of new process in production.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Experience: 5 years of experience in machining, CNC programming preferably in Mastercam.  Forging, casting, welding, heat treating experience are highly desirable. 
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Technology/Skills: Proficient in SolidWorks, MS Excel and Word, MS Project experience preferred.  Excellent problem solving, technical, written and oral communication and customer service skills.  Strong project management ability.
