The primary objective for the Inside Sales Department is to obtain the opportunity to bid on business that fits the Power Plant Services Group of Companies objectives and to convert opportunities into quotations & orders for the Company.  The Inside Sales Coordinator (ISC) supports this sales function by representing the Company to current leads, existing customers and prospects in an effort to identify business opportunities for the company through communication.  This is an actively managed, proactive selling, and lead qualification assignment.  Each ISC will be assigned a specific territory and/or customer group to prospect for the requested information as outlined by the Company.  The ISC's primary objective is to generate quotes for parts and service, build a relationship with existing leads, Customers and prospects via consistent, responsive and professional telephone contact; using and building our database of companies, contacts, equipment serviced, opportunities and documenting all activity.  This position requires that the employee be able to proactively engage others within the Company to meet the sales and service function of the organization, while adhering to company policies and values.

Critical Competencies and Duties:

  • Consultative Sales Skills: Superior listening ability, business acumen, prospecting habits and resiliency in an Inside, phone-based environment.
  • Implementing Knowledge: In depth initial and extensive ongoing training and interaction will be provided by your direct manager.  This training will provide the tools and job knowledge for you to be successful in your new role.  This training and support needs to be implemented and used to help you prospect/source/process new opportunities and successfully hand them off to Customer Service & Sales and Estimation for processing.  The requirement is to manage opportunities listed in your territory and update new information into the CRM/ERP system for accurate reporting on a regular basis, receive communications from customers regarding opportunities with follow-up in order to enable quotes to be generated. Utilize project management methods and tools to enable a structured approach to deliver on commitments.
  • Research: Record and update information about competition and customer buying habits and timeline.  Produce ongoing call list schedule in CRM / ERP for your territory based on all other known activity with a particular opportunity, so we are calling Customers, Prospects and Suspects at the proper times into the future. Prospect new business opportunities and new customers by asking for referrals.  Document all communication with customer utilizing the proper processes and tools, as trained by the direct manager.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate directly with Customer Service Representatives, Marketing, Sales Estimation, on-site consultants, and off-shore team members through receipt of customer orders, specifically sanctioned by your direct supervisor.  Support on-boarding of new ISCs, on-site consultants, and off-shore team members by providing on-the-job training.
  • Technical Knowledge: While, although this is a non-technical sales role, the ISC is expected to learn about the Company's products and services to speak in an intelligent manner with the customer.  Ability to learn industry specific terminology, as provided to you during training by your direct manager with possibility to offer Company solutions, as well as additional services, as the end result.
  • Internal & External Communications: Communicate internally with other department staff and the customer in a professional, respectful manner.
  • Time Management: Manage time effectively, meet personal goals and work effectively with other members of the team.  Extended working hours may be required during spring and fall outage seasons.  Weekend / On-Call work will be based on schedules distributed by your direct manager.
  • Call Monitoring: Participate in call recording and analysis.  Your direct manager and/or the training designee may perform live monitoring and or recorded call screening for training and coaching purposes.
  • Miscellaneous: Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Experience: Business to Business phone selling experience.  Effective and professional phone conversation skills.  Strong research and data documentation skills.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Computer Skills: Utilize Microsoft Office suite and CRM/ERP systems.
  • Any combination of the above criteria will also be considered.
