Under the direction of the supervisor the Maintenance Technician is responsible for daily maintenance tasks and maintenance repairs. Perform highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems, and to prevent excessive downtimes for production.  Must be team player and able to get along with a diverse group of people with a common goal.

Critical Competencies and Duties:

  • Technical Knowledge: Perform mechanical skills which include but not limited to mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting, and repair of production machines.  An understanding of PLC's and the ability to read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform assigned duties.
  • Job Knowledge: Installation, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of machines and equipment including but not limited to all CNC and manual machining equipment; check coolant and oil levels, perform scheduled machine maintenance (cleaning coolant pumps, change air filters, clean filters, oil machines, make sure the machines are operating properly), check batteries on fork lift, lifters and floor cleaner.  Perform general building maintenance.
  • Communication and team work: Inform supervisor of recurring problems or patterns with machines.  Inform supervisor when other outside services are needed.  Coordinate with external suppliers and maintenance companies to ensure timely and accurate completion of work.
  • Safety: Work must be performed in compliance with safety policies and procedures and OSHA regulations.  Works safely to prevent on-the-job injuries following all safety regulations.
  • Compliance: Work must be performed in compliance with ISO9001:2008 and ISO13485:2003 certification.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Experience: 5+ years of manufacturing experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical and industrial equipment.
  • Education: Requires a high school diploma/GED. An AA degree in mechanical, electrical or industrial maintenance a plus.
  • Technical Knowledge: Ability to read part manuals, electrical and mechanical schematics, assembly instructions and troubleshooting guides.  Experience with FANUC and Mazatrol.  Knowledge of CNC machine design and operation.  Knowledge of and experience with electrical test equipment, electrical, hydraulic and mechanical systems.
  • Strong work ethic: Must be highly motivated and able to work independently.  Be willing to work OT to meet tight deadlines regularly.
  • Physical requirements: Must be able to stand, walk, bend/stoop on a regular basis and lift and lower 30-50 lbs.
